Acceptable Use
Store music you have the right to store. Do not use the service to harm anyone, and do not attack it.
We do not scan, listen to, or analyse your music. This policy is enforced when something is reported to us or when the service itself is under attack.
The short version
Northwest Falls exists so that unreleased music has somewhere safe to sit. Almost everything on this page follows from that.
What you may not store
- Work you have no right to. Recordings, samples, artwork or lyrics belonging to someone else, without their permission.
- Material that is illegal to possess or distribute in the European Union.
- Content sexualising minors. Reported to the relevant authorities, account closed, no appeal.
- Malware, or files designed to exploit whoever opens them.
- Personal data about other people gathered without a lawful basis.
- Unrelated bulk files. The service is for music and the work around it, not a general file drop or a way to serve large downloads to the public.
What you may not do
- Probe, scan or attempt to break the service, other than under our disclosure policy, which invites exactly that and protects you while you do it.
- Try to reach an account, a file or a link that is not yours.
- Use share links to harass someone, or to distribute material designed to deceive.
- Resell access to the service, or run automated bulk traffic against it that degrades it for others.
- Create accounts to evade a suspension or a storage limit.
How this is enforced
We do not scan your music. There is no automated analysis of your audio, no fingerprinting against a rights database, and nobody at Northwest Falls listens to your catalogue. Privacy is the product, and a policy that required us to inspect everything would destroy it.
This policy is acted on when something is reported to us under Copyright or by email, when a legal authority requires it, or when automated systems detect the service itself being attacked or abused.
What happens
For most breaches we email you, explain what we saw, and give you the chance to fix it. For a first mistake made in good faith that is usually the end of it.
For serious or repeated breaches we may restrict a link, suspend the account, or close it. Except where the law forbids it, we will tell you what happened and give you a way to export before anything is removed.
To report something: [email protected]. For a copyright claim, use the copyright process instead, which needs specific information to be actionable.
